Is a new processor possible ?

I'm wondering if it's possible to install a new processor in My Computer ? I fly in The Microsoft Flight Simulator and it's bogging down on me. I've been told some of the newer computer are made where you can't put in new graphic cards and processors. My HP Desktop is about two years old.

Your graphics card is probably more of a problem than the processor is. You'll need to get a new power supply and video card. What's your budget and currency?

Best to get new psu with video card.

With 300w psu, best u can get is GTX 750ti without changing psu
 
You could put in either an I5 3570 or an I7 3770. But to be honest, you won't see much difference. As Denther has said, you need a dedicated video card if you are going to be playing flight simulators. The onboard graphics from the cpu won't play anything demanding. You will also need to upgrade your power supply before getting a video card.
