I want to connect my 64bit system to my wireless network without using drivers. Will anything called a wireless access point do the job? Or am I looking for a bridge?
a wireless access point can be a bridge or a router. wireless bridges simply provide a connection while something else handles DHCP and the other functions. could you be a little more specific as to what you are trying to do?
well, I just built a new puter with xp64 bit and my wireless card doesn't support the 64 bit and I'm having trouble finding one that does. I'm trying to connect my computer to my network without having to worry about software or drivers.
ohh, that has nothing to do with an access point. the access point is the equipment that transmits the signal, the card recieves it. somebody once posted one wireless card that is compatible with 64bit, i dont remember what it is. try searching
Unless of course you connect your ethernet port to the wireless access point and then configure the access point to use your existing wireless network.
