In windows I don't mind it cos TBH I see absolutley no difference, everything I have in Nvidia control panel is set to performace so I can get higher FPS in games and benchmarks.

But for In games AA is a must for me.

Take oblivion for example, I run it at 1024 x 768 full detail med textures, I could run it at 1280 x 1024 but I would have to turn AA / AS / and all the graphics settings down low plus have the Textures on low, I would much rather play at highish detail at a lower resolution than with huge resolution with no detail at all.:)

if you turn the antialiasing up to 8X in teh nvidia controll panel and the game doesnt have the option for 8X do you still get 8X

Can someone post a few comparison pictures?

They should have the following:
AA Disabled
AA x # (whatever multipliers your GPU can do)

I took some screenshots from Half-Life 2, using no AA, 2x, and 6x. I had to shrink them in photoshop to 800x640 since photobucket doesnt allow 1280x1024 pics. So anyways, here they are. The first one is no AA (note the telephone pole and wires), second is 2x AA, and third is 6x AA. I didn't see the need for 4x, since you dont see much of a difference anyways.

I should also note that when I was taking these at 1280x1024, they still looked identical to the ones I just posted. So saying something like "blah blah, i run at 1280x1024 so I wont see the difference", is completly untrue. These screenshots were taking from 1280x1024 game scenes.

Wow...that makes a big difference. Of course I don't game, so I wouldn't know, but if I ever do, I'll make sure that I enable AA. :)

Just make sure your rig can satisfy your FPS needs at the same time, as it's a pretty big strain for your video card.

I think your referring to AF, because AA doesn't go that high in today's games, with today's GPU's.

You are right, i was messed up- I usually have AA on 4-8X, and AF on 8-16X.
