Is ATA-6 equals to IDE?

Hi,
I am try to locate an hard drive to replace my old Gateway MX6124 laptop 60gb hard drive. I see this one at Newegg.com it say ATA-6 Interface. is this drive compatable the the old laptop? at the Gateway website. it just say 60 gb hard drive and don't even state which interface, but this is an old laptop, so I know it is ide drive.

I have a feeling your laptop uses a SATA hard drive not an IDE drive. Can you pull the hard drive out and look at it?

I don't have that laptop at home. it is at work. I will try to take it out tommorrow and check to see if it is a SATA interface. if it is would be a good news for me because the SATA drives are way cheaper than ide legacy drives. I do have another Gateway Laptop MX6214 which use SATA drive. but that is a year newer than the older mx6124.
Is the ata-6 drive work with ide interface?

Unfortunately it is ata/ide hard drive. That means I have to pay premium price for those soon extinged hard drives.
