is Core 2 Duo really worth buying??

hi,
i'm gonna buy a labtop, and i get to choose between these two CPU
Intel® Core™ DUO T2350 (1.86GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)
and
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5500 (1.66GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
[add $85]

my question is , GHz-wise this Core 2 Duo is less than Core Duo, but FSB is higher. What is FSB anyway, does it make a big difference in terms of daily usage?

In my oppinion you should get the Core2Duo, anyways you can always OC the the Core2Duo to 2GHz...

if ur getting a laptop from dell or something u cant overclock it i would go with c2d since its latest in computing but core duo is still good

I Quick Deffininition of what Front side bus(FSB) is that it's basically how fast ur CPU gets Information to and I (think) from the other parts of the Computer (RAM, PCI-E, Etc.)

Faster speed? but my laptops hot enought =) It makes me feel hot in 25F winter....

buy the best parts that are in your budget and yes I think the C2D is worth it

Get the Core Duo, not the Core 2 Duo. The difference in clock speeds will make the Core Duo perform better overall. Not to mention you would be saving $85.

And whoever said something about overclocking, this is a laptop, you cant overclock them (safely)
