Is CPU good for gaming?

My motherboard supports AM3 only so I need a good one, but i'm looking into $120 price range.

Without a doubt the 720. I can overclock mine mostly stable to 4ghz, and completely stable at 3.9ghz. With my 4850 and 4gb ddr2-800 i max most games at 1920x1080.

The Phenom II 720 Tri-Core processor is one of the best buy processors out there presently. It has a lot of processing power but is only $119.

I was looking at buying the Phenom II 720 but it is not on the processor support list with my present motherboard. I wish Gigabyte would test my motherboard with the Phenom II 720.
