that only shows specs though, that wont help you decide which card will perform better. you need to look up benchmarks and reviews. i usually use tomshardware.com

ATi currently pwns nvidia.

well, the GTX280 is the best performer right now, but its damn expensive. the 4870 1GB is a little more affordable, and offers almost as good performance as the GTX280. but if you dont need bleeding edge, the 9800GTX+ is the best bang for the buck imo.

but god forbid you look at the core clocks of a 3870 and then believe that it bests an 8800GTX because its a few hundred mhz faster.

*ahem* ...4870x2

4870x2 is currently the best performing card

everything below it in regards to performance per dollar, ATI pwns.

nvidia has been on top for a while and it was nice to see ATI come out of nowhere like they did. the fact that nvidia is making no money on their 200 series cracks me up. the cost of high end graphics cards was ridiculous until ATI released their new lineup... thank god there is now some competition in the market to help keep prices down.

yeah, i purposely omitted the 4870x2 bc of driver issues, but i guess they have been resolved by now, and i guess i shouldnt have omitted it lol

There's no definitive answer to "Is nVidia GeForce better then ATi Radeon?" it's all about pricerange to performance, nVidia is a little better but ATi is a little cheaper
