Well I have just quit my recent course at college because I decided I didnt want to go into it as a career but I really like computers so i'm thinking of going into it as a career but do many girls go into I.T i'm kind of worried that if I do a I.T course i'll be the only girl on the course

there is no reason why girls dont do it, but there are very few in the sector. In UK uni's I would say its 95% male

Theres no reason why you can't, however the computer field is usually overwhelmed with men. However this may be a good thing for you, especially if the company needs to hire more women employees (such as in a computer related company). In my classes there are only 1-2 girls going for an IT major.

where i use to work there were actually 3 IT girls, 2 on the call center and one a network/hardware technician, she was really good with crimping cables and cabling itself but not to good on OS. i usually find it funny to see her rushing around with trunking and utp cables

Whether you are the only person depends on the class size.

My university group for comp science is 100-150, and about 5 of them are women. So, a very small proportion.

So yes, the I.T. and computer engineering industry is open to both sexes.

it doesnt really matter if youre the only girl really... if you wanna do it go for it :D hehe

in my course at uni we have about 6 -7 girls out of a class of about 30...
