Is Intel® Pro/Wireless and Centrino the same?

im confused could someone please help and tell me the difference! are they both wireless internet...things...i dont know what its called haha and if they are which one is better?

Yes they are the same... well just about. Centrino is basically a combo of Intel's goodies- Intel mobile processor, Intel mobile chipset, and Intel wireless adapter. Hope that helps. :D

so would i notice the difference between using either? im about to buy a laptop and it has everything i wanted but no centrino...will this affect wireless internet capabilties or performance?

oh ok so what does it mean if the specifications of this laptop i want, says its got the Intel® Pro/Wireless but doesnt say it has centrino?
 
it means you will be able to access wifi, sure its not centrino its not a Pentium M processor is it? if it is, that means you have wireless anyway
 
Correct, it's basically has that wireless card, but may not have a Pentium M processor. It could be a AMD processor but with an Intel wireless card. It's just that Intel makes many things and not just processors alone.
