i have been thinking about getting a new computer for myself (not to share with the family:D) so i went to pc world to have a look. now i do not know much about computers at all so bare with me;) . i am looking for a computer that comes with screen keyboard and mouse. i intend to use it for photo-editing/video editing, computer drawing programs(currently using photoshop but intend to upgrade to something like corel painter x soon), storing large amounts of music and photos, general internet use, and a small amount of ganing ( the onley games i want to play are battle for middle earth 2 and age of empires 3) watching dvds and of corse small amounts of school work :D . pc world recomended this pc however a friend said that it was a rip off, any opinions please, i am going to buy in the new year.

the guy in the store said something about dedicated graphics but i cant realy remember now.

It is a pretty good set up, for what you want, but for price, I do not know how much things are worth in Pounds or what the "E" looking thing stands for (soz) but if you want to do all that, get a mac (can't believe I just said that), they actually are pretty good for gaming, photo/movie editing and school work (I don't do that anyway).

thanks :D but macs cost too much, by the way that funny e thing (£) is the pound symbol, just like $ is dollars ;) .i think i will get it after christmas.

£699.99 = 1,041.38 USD

That's decent specs, but it costs WAY too much... your best bet would be self building if you're comfortable doing it.

And Macs are nice, but WAY overpriced.

an alternative would be ...
hp pavilion slimline s3624 with 19" TFT and hp F4272 all in one

- AMD Athlon 64 x2 4450e processor
- (2.3GHz, 1MB Cache)
- Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
- 2GB DDR2 800MHz memory
- 320GB SATA hard drive (7200)
- 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE graphics
- Dual Layer DVD Rewriter
- 15-in-1 media card reader
- built in wireless (802.11b/g)
- 6x USB, 1x IEEE 1394 fireWire ports
- RAM Memory 2048mb

and wireless keyboard and mouse, sorry i forgot to mention that these also come with the first spec.

would this be ok for my requirements? thanks

That is an alright computer too, but again it is most likly way over price(seeing as you didnt post a price), like irishwhistle said your best bet is build a computer your self. It really isnt as hard as you might think. Ill be building my first build after xmas. I have changed parts in comps and whitched cases before and i am fully confident that i can do a complete build no problem now. Also there is a great post w/picks that that is a complete walkthrough on how to build a computer.

Good job omega btw!

PS: Id be happy to help you pick out some parts for your computer if your not comfortable doing it yourself, i just need to know a site to buy off of because newegg doesnt deliver to europe.
