Is it O.K??

Hello everybody,,,

As matter of facts I have (Dell) Laptop "Inspiron 1300" it's kind of alittle old...
let me give you its basic details...!

Ram memory : 512 mb
Video card : 128 mb
processer : 1.60 GHz (Intel Celeron M) "N Series"

ummm... I wanna know if it's o.k installing Windows Vista on it...? Or keep XP SP2..?


And I'll be thankful for you...

With 512mb of RAM I'd doubt it. Vista Home Premium on my laptop requires about 600mb on idle!

I don't think it'd be worth it to be honest.

For a laptop no way! first for 150$ or what ever it is going for your better off sticking with xp. Also i have a duel core and it is still a bit slow and just recently i moved up to 2 GB of ram just to run halo 2. The only benifet you get with vista is halo 2 and a new start menu.

vista basic will run quite good. most new pcs with vista basic comes with 512 ram.

dude, i must admit, i got a good laugh over that.
NO, stick with XP. my spankin new laptop is reduced to crawling at times with vista, and i have double the power of your rig. i actually installed XP along with vista...mainly to better utilize the processing power during gaming. vista is great, but either stick with xp or get a more powerful rig.
