Is it ok to play bad quality dvds?

First off its been forever since I last posted on computer forum.

How is everybody doing?

I got some dvd movies but they are of very bad quality.

Is it ok to play it on my dvd burner? its not gona damage my burner is it?

what I meant to say is that the DVD disk it self is of bad quality. It's edges are very sharp, and the die on the disk looks like its been under water. The content plays fine on my dvd player, but I was worried it may break my dvd burner.
