I have a DVD-r player. It does not take DVD+r disc. Is it possible to re-create the DVD+r as DVD-r ?

My DVD+/-RW burner supports dual layer. The software I use is 1Click DVD Copy v4.2

you just contridicted yourself, you said that it only accepts DVD-R, but then you said you have a DVD+/-RW DL burner...

my DVD-r player = standalone
my DVD+/- RW burner = part of my computer

2 separate things. My question is whether or not I could "copy" a DVD+r disc to a DVD-r disc using my DVD+/- RW burner.

you should be able to, i never actually tried it. And is the DVD full of music, home movies, or is it a retail movie?

surely the - and + of the disc is actually the disk. so it would be like turning water into wine.

could you not just buy some dvd-r media?

i think he means that he has a DVD-R disc, and he wants to make a copy of that but put it on a DVD+R, thats why i asked what was on the disc, if it was just data or music, you can copy those, but im not sure about video.

1. Read the question again :)
2. Actually you can burn a DVD+r as a DVD-r (but you cannot burn a DVD-r as a DVD+r).. the process is known as "adjusting the booktype" or "adjusting the bitsetting" and is used to increase the compatibility of DVD+r media (generally with standalones).. now there are several vendor-specific tools (which means u need to identify the make of your drive... Nero infotools, listed in QUESTIONS 101, can help).

- LiteOn
- BENQ
- Ricoh
etc
