Is it possible to have MULTIPLE BURNS ?

I wanted to know if it is possible to burn more than 1 disc at a time.

I got just about every burning program on my computer including Nero 7.
I currently have 2 dvd burners hooked up, and can put another 1 if needed.

I want to know if I can burn 2 discs at the same time ?
If so, how ?

Thanks guys

You would need powerful processor to do so, but I'm pretty sure you can. Depending on what you are burning You might be better off getting multi disk unit like recording studios use, if you are coping music

I made a post about this a little while ago... It's really dependent on the software. I got my machine to burn a DVD and CD at once, but I ran into many problem. First, and the rather obvious, many programs won't let you run them more than once at a time. So I tried two different programs. Though it worked, you had to wait a good amount of time while the computer attempted to check the status of the other drive(one was already burning) After waiting and getting a couple errors about the other drive not being ready, I was able to start burning...

Eh, to cut it short... Yes, it's totally possible and not all that difficult on a computer. However, most software really doesn't support it so it's much more trouble than it's worth...

I've done it with the Athlon 3200+ I'm running now... it doesn't take that much power.

However, it's best to do with SATA drives or IDE drives on different cables. If you try and burn with two drives on the same cable you get a lot of slowdown and sometime problems.

Well would an AMD dual core CPU running at 1.9G w/ 2 x1 gb of ram work ?
I got Nero 7, Decrypter, ImgBurn, RI4M, and Clone.
What program would work best.

I'm really looking into on how to burn 2 Dvd's at a time. Identical dvd's, nothing fancy.

Thanks

well, nero's only allowed to use 80MB of ram for a buffer, so the most you're gonna need with nero is 160MB.

And it works fine, but make sure you have your hard drive nicely defragmented beforehand.

Also, you're going to have to burn slow, and despite popular belief, burning slower is not necessarily better. For instance, 16x media is MEANT to be burned at fast speed. You actually get MUCH better scan test results if you burn 16x media @ 12-16x speed than burning the same media at 4-8x, as the burner must use an adjusted write strategy, and decrease laser intensity, to try and compensate for the fast-acting dye used in the high-speed disc, which results in a lower quality burn.

You'd honestly be better off writing one disc at a time @ 12-16x than two at a time @ 4x (which is about all the faster you'll be able to burn two at once from the same hard drive).

This is, of course, unless you can actually track down 4x media, which is sparse nowadays.

It doesnt require that much processing power.

If both burners are connected via the same IDE cable, then theres a high chance for errors to occur when burning, and it will drastically increase the total burn time.

Now if they are on separate IDE channels, or are SATA, then theres no problem.
