It's not that hard to get into a laptop, I've opened Compaq Presario, Dell's, IBM's simply by looking at the manufacturer's instructiosn you can download off the internet.
There are panels on the bottom of the laptop that you can remove and gain access to certain hardware such as the harddrives, RAM, wireless compartements. But the most important part to remove to get full accessibility to the laptop is the keyboard in most instances.
For my old Dell laptop, you had to remove a few screws from the bottom, pop off the plastic covers under the screen, and then the keyboard would lift off. You then had to unplug it and remove it. After that, you have full access to most of the motherboard, video card, processor, etc.
Taking apart the screen is a whle nother story. Wouldn't recommend that without osme detalined printouts of interior and part placement.
