Is it possible to corrupt a re-writable cd/dvd so that it can not be erased?

I do not beleive there is any such thing as +R's. You may be thinking of DVD's. In this case there is a difference but as long as you are talking CD's you have -R and RW.

To proberly answer your question, no there is no way to convince your system to not erase a CD-RW. Use CD-R instead. They are cheaper.
