Is it risky to buy two kits of different sizes

My mobo has two channels of memory. I have 2x16gb of corsair ram in there at 3200mhz. Would it be risky to buy another pair of 2x32gb corsair ram at 3200mhz? It's the same model but a different size, same speed too.

Would i end up with 96gb of ram at 3200mhz?

What motherboard do you have? Depending on motherboard it might not take that much ram, most are limited to 64 gb now. 4x16

You can balance the channel capacities so they both have 48G in that case.

What's your actual RAM use case?

That motherboard allows up to 128gb of ram so you should be ok. But according to this, they are only recommending 8 to 16 of ram. Check your ram usage and see how much is being used when you are composing. I wouldn't upgrade unless you are using more then 80 percent of the existing ram.
