Is it safe to mail DVDs?

I made some DVDs with movies that we made in a school club and was wondering if they will be damaged if i mail them to some people through regular mail service (envelopes)? Is there any way to make envelope shipping safe (padding/newspapers or something)?

Thanks

If you put the dvds in a case and place them in an envelope with bubble wrap/newspaper on the inside, they should be ok. I've bought dvds online and this is how they were delivered.

you wont be able to send it through normal letter mail to my knowledge. they will see that its too heavy to be a letter. you can get a big envelope and put it in that with bubble wrap if you want. there may be a way to get it to work in a standard letter envelope but i dont know it.

Well, I was planning on using CD sleeves so it would be thinner than CD cases so they would make it in an envelope. I was thinking CD cases would probably be safer, but will sleeves work?

sleaves just make sure it doesnt get scratched, I wouldnt worry about it getting scratched as much as it getting cracked going through the mail

Netflix and Blockbuster use paper envelopes to send movies and I have never heard of movies being ruined in the mail. All they are sent in is a paper envelope which weighs less than a five page letter.
