Oh I see. I never even heard about using more than one graphic card at once before today but sure, I can cope with that. What is good in using sli/crossfire?
Intel uses Intel motherboards and AMD uses AMD motherboards?
People use ATI for AMD because crossfire is so much better than sli for AMD motherboards?
If then, people use sli for Intel because sli is much better than crossfire for Intel motherboards?
And you're using crossfire since your motherboard is 8xx -> 890FXA-UD5
a good solution a lot of people seem to use is getting a single HD 5850 and then getting another down the road for crossfire. but, you can go higher and get a 5870 or go lower and get something like a 5770. just depends on your budget. it is always best to get the best single card you can and then crossfire down the road.
yep.
crossfire isn't necessarily better it is just that the chipsets that support crossfire are much better than those that support sli.
sli is almost always better than crossfire since it scales much better (you get closer to a 100% gain with sli than with crossfire).
i actually have a single 5970 card that uses 2 gpus on a single board with crossfire.
I thought that 790/890 were the best supported chipsets for crossfire. For 8x8 and 16x16. Seems odd that those would not be the ones to make compatible for SLI.
pretty sure amd just wants people to stick with ati cards (since amd and ati are the same
