Is it worth buying this laptop?

First post, so first off hello Marklar!

I've been looking at laptops on ebay for quite a bit, as I'm on a dirt cheap-scate budget and I'm trying to find something decent with the very limited amount of money I have! I'm a filmmaker but my PC has died and I need to be on the go portable style! (swag) but don't have a huge amount of money (did i mention that?) as I've spent it all on equipment blah blah blah ANYWAY.

The specs on this laptop look awesome BUT it's slightly faulty and I'm wondering if anyone on here can tell me if the problem it has, is a cheap/quick fix? (I asked the seller but they said "I'm not a computer person so I don't know sorry") That's helpful :/

The fault as quoted by the seller: "Hi i dont know whats wrong with it i am not a computer person i used it for gaming but one day i plugged it in and it turned off it works off the battery but it does not work of the charger. i got a new laptop all ready thats why i am selling sorry if i am not very helpful but i am not a computer person "

Insight would be much appreciated! I love you all. little extreme...um I hate you all! ha I just gave you two extremes and now you don't know how I truly feel about you! Ha..ha gonna stop typing now...

Im not convinced. Already 280EUro with postage, and you don't know what is wrong with it. Im thinking he has found out, decided its too expensive to fix and cutting his loses. I would think that its the charging circuit gone, this could be hundreds of pounds. Remember, also, that most laptops when not plugged in, downclock components to save energy, this would make the computer slower.

The charging circuit, or damaged part is probably part of the motherboard, requiring a complete change which will cost around 300euro with labour. http://www.notebookparts.com/dell-xps-15-l501x-intel-motherboard-nwf36-cn-0nwf36/
