Is it worth buying?

I currently have a AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor, but I don't currently know a lot about AMD processors. I was looking to upgrade to this processor (below) so that i could have a better processor and support DDR4 ram. I was curious if this processor is a lot better than my old one, and if i should upgrade? or would i be better off and saving for the I7-8700K version?

The 8600K is about twice as powerful as your current AMD chip. Your chip is also over five years old.

You'll need a new motherboard for Intel and DDR4 support. What do you use your system for?

Awesome, thank you! I use it mostly for gaming (pubg). I already have a new motherboard and ddr4 ram mapped out, it was just going to be really expensive and i wanted to get the price down a bit.
