Is it worth the money to upgrade from an Athlon 2400XP to an Athlon 32000XP? I am not sure however if my motherboard supports the 3200xp...i have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe....I mostly use my computer for games and such like CSS and WoW
If you get a socket 939 Athlon, then with the right motherboard you wouldn't have to upgrade your current ram. But if you were going towards the AM2 line then you would as there not compatible with standard ddr ram.
I wouldn't get another Athlon no matter how powerfull it is, they're old and outdated, I know
Like nffc10 said, you could get a newer 939 board and CPU, but then again, they're still old.
The best thing to do would be buy a whole new motherboard (LGA 775), Core 2 Duo CPU and DDR2 RAM, with that I'm pretty sure you'd have to get a PCI-e graphics card too!
