Recently i have been noticing a slight slowdown in my computer,,,mostly because i have been running several programmes at the same time. You can see below what processor i have, but the other day i saw this AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz Socket 939, 1MB, BOXED w/fan, at what i consider a reasonable price ,240 euros. Is it worth the upgrade, and will i really see much improvement???
Also, do you guys think that this processor wil b capable of running vista when its released, as i dont want to have to purchase a new one again in a few months(or years, it is microsoft).

any suggestions greatly appreciated

if you want your computer running multiple applications constently and its becoming a problem then you should upgrade, it will aslo handle vista better.

A dual-core will certainly help with your multi-tasking. And future games will have full support of dual-core CPU in no time!

I don't know what is 240 euros in canadian, put the X2 4600+ would make a nice addition to your computer.

Or perhaps you should save up for the core 2 duos (Conroes), thoes CPUs are fantastic as you propably heard alot of people say. :D

I'm fairly impressed with my Athlon X2... However, they do come with problems. A few apps have issues with dual core, and some programs slow down.

hey thanks, i will take that into consideration (its 345 canadian btw.lol.)
I also would like to know if them amd 64 FX processors are "all that". thanks
