I don't see a problem with guys playing girls in MMORPGs or vice-versa, but all my World of Warcraft characters in the past were male.

Well, this question kinda reminds me of the South Park episode, Make Love, Not Warcraft where Stan(?) was a female Human Mage and it was funny hearing his voice coming out of the female character.

I don't think that's true at all, in fact I know that's not true at all...

You know its not true eh? it's hard to believe that people who emerse themselves, sometimes wholy into a game, won't have it cross their minds and think about it each time they look at the character.

They may know that deep down inside they are a guy, but sometimes that fact is overshadowed by the games avatar. All im saying is that you need to expect that pple WILL treat you differently based on this decision. And if you like to be treated well, differently, then go for it.

This applies more to mmorpgs, the more emmersive ones, like ffxi, that caliber.

Umm..., in Guild Wars when I've been playing as a female character, I've NEVER been treated as a girl just because I'm playing as one. Anyway, what's wrong with that anyway...
