Is my AMD processor a 64 bit cpu?

Hi all.
I have this Toshiba Satelite Laptop A215 S5837. I want to know if this laptop support Windows 7 64bit Ultimate or not. I am using windows 7 32bit ultimate now. Can I just upgrade to window 7 64 bit without reformat the harddrive?
CPUZ report this laptop has AMD Turion 64x2 mobile TL-60 code name Tyler Brand id 2 family F model 8 stepping 2. instruction MMX(+) SSE(1,2,3) x86-64 AMD-V Socket S1 (638). is this cpu compatable with 64 bits OS? it have 4GB ram, that is the main reason I want to use windows 7 64 bit so it can use all the memory.

Yep, supports 64 bit just fine. beware of 64 bit drivers though, you may have to get them through the hardware manufacturer and not toshiba.

Thank you guys,

Does windows 7 64bit use different drivers for sounds, display and network adapters from the 32 bit windows 7? it came with Vista 32bit I just upgraded to windows 7 32bit ultimate and everything is working. does the 64 bit OS run better in this laptop? away from it can utilise the 4gb memory?

64bit will be able to utilize your full amount of memory, that is the main advantage to a 64bit operating system.

Drivers may or may not work out of the box, windows update should find drivers for you otherwise, and if not, just make another post here with what drivers you need and we will be able to help.

I plan to upgrade my 160gb hard drive to 750gb. I just ordered one from newegg.com, so I will wait until I got the new hard drive then copy the old hd to the new then upgrade to windows 7 64bits. and leave the old hard drive with the 32bits windows 7 in case if the 64bits doesn't work.
