is my CPU holding my GPU back

i was just wondering, on the Pentium D build in my sig is the CPU holding the GPU back?

but like when playing crysis with my 8800GT i get the same FPS with my pentium D, same as that one, and an amd 6000+.

so i cant see how it would be bottlenecking

Depends on the game, but I am sure that it is not bottlenecking too bad, if any.

Thats cos pentium D and amd arcitecture suck

Stick a 3 GHz + Core 2 duo in there and youll see it rocket IMO

yea thats cool. he is probably do upgrades this year anyway get rid of that MOBO get a crossfire board an a E6750 or 8400 depends how much they come down in price, after doing that have to get 3G of DDR 800 ram. then maby if he is lucky 1 more 3850.
then it will fly.

Yeah, it's probably holding back a bit in new games. I have a Pentium D and an 8800GT and my 3DMark06 score is only around 7000... most people with 8800GT's (and core 2 duos) get 10,000. then again I have a better card but worse CPU so there's probably less of a bottleneck for you.
