Is my hdd running in SATA2 mode, or do i have to rewire it for that?

well the jumper is what limits it, I dont know if seagate sets it so that the peeps who uses Sata I just plug it in and SATA II users just remove it.

Is their any effect if you have SATAII HDD on a SATA I system?

There is a golden rule when it comes to SATA I / II :

"Nothing depends on the HDD itself. The MOBO is the only factor to be seen"

What I mean is, if I got an old pre-SATA II HDD, and used it in a new MOBO with SATA II, it would be enabled. But if I got a brand new drive and used it with an old no SATA II MOBO, it would automatically assume the SATA150 bus.
