So just to clarify it seems to be working OK now there's a different HDD in it?

Are you still having issues charging it?

It is working fine with another HDD in it. The battery is still not charging, so I'm running it battery-less off the charger plug. I'm ordering a new battery soon.

Everything seems fine as of now!

Good to hear. Sounds like your battery is dead (not surprising really after 7-8 years of daily use!) but good to hear a new one is on its way! :good:
