A couple of days ago, there was this huge thunder storm. After a lightning strike, im not too sure where, my house was blacked out. (Im clueless about electrical stuff, so do pardon my lack of proper terminologies) After the power was cut, i went to check what I think is the fuse box. The safety switch was activated (it cut the power to the whole house) so i just turned it back on. Everything seems to be working fine except for my ps3, which was on standby at the moment the lightning struck. It can be turned on, there's light and everything. There just doesnt seem to be any output to the TV. i tried changing the HDMI port but it doesnt work either. I dont have another TV to test this on. Any idea what may be wrong?

EDIT: There seems to be a double posting of this. can a mod remove one of them? :)

Have you tried a reset yet, by holding down the power button until it beeps a second time?

I've seen a bad hard drive cause different weird issues with the PS3, if you have a spare 2.5" SATA laying around give it a try.

I've try with the red, white, yellow cables as it would sound like the video settings have revert back to av and not using hdmi.

I did the reset but nothing's changed. I reverted back to the RWY cable and it was fine. I've also tried with a different HDMI cable, but it still didnt work so there's nothing wrong with the wire. my ps3 was only able to detect the presence of HDMI once out of the numerous times that i plugged the HDMI wire in. When I change the TV input to HDMI, nothing is detected. How do i change it to HDMI? :X
