Hey there, I'm currently looking at the GTX 1080 and I'm having a little trouble figuering out if my PSU can support it or not. I'll post links, I know my wattage is ok, mainly I'm not entirly sure if the amount of Amps on my 12v rails are acceptable.

I'll post links for my other components if you think it's neccessary.

Iv got two monitors but only really game on one so I don't think that matters. I can post links if its needed.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

You have way more then enough wattage and voltage on the 12 volt rail to run the 1080 and then some.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Yeah I just wanted to be sure you know. I live in Canada and this card is going to cost around $840.00 so best to be sure. Thanks again :)

LOL I'm sure you can tell I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to computer specifics, this is my first build I put together myself I've had it for almost 3 years now. Currently running the GTX 770 and thought its time for an upgrade.

What monitors are you running? What are you trying to achieve performance wise? You might not need a 1080.

I've already ordered the card, for an idea performance wise I'd like to run Battlefield one on max settings. I was looking at the 1070, its cheaper and relativly close in performance to the 1080. I've got the xtra cash though so decided to go with the 1080.

I'm sure my choice of card is possibly overkill, I like to game and like I said I've got some extra money to spend.

Both @Intel_man and I are Canadian too and both of us are running 1080's...we both run Corsair 650W unit (RMx and HX series) and they are more than enough

how are you finding the 1080? Any complaints about it?

I went with the MSI Gaming GTX 1080 and its been flawless, performs better than any card I've ever owned over a wide range of games.. no real bad things to say.

Nice, well hopefully all goes well and I get the card in a week or so. Do you guys find it to be very loud? My 770 is pretty quiet, and I have to admit the only game I've had crashes is BF1; and thats only after the last patch. I ran bf1 for about 30 hours on high settings and it worked fine, now I have to lower the quality drastically and It still crashes from time to time. Other than that I'm very happy with my current card; excited for the 1080 though.

I don't hear it under normal conditions. At full fan speed, it's 1/3 the noise of a blower style cooler.
