Is my ram bad?

I built my first system and it worked great until one day I was playing BF2; during the game the blue sky turned gray and my system crashed to a blue screen. I tried playing again crashed. Still it crashed everytime i tried. I tried searching for a virus and stuff. However, it wouldn't allow me to install anything. All installations were corrupt and such. I reformatted my computer to hopefully fix this problem. It didn't. I looked into it and used memtest and it worked up to 700mb test. after that i started to get problems with memory about 750mb. I haven't overclocked my system yet, however, i can't OC it because nothing will install. Even windows crashes serveral times while installing. I ordered a new hard drive hopiung that's my problem. that HDD wasn't it. It crashed on the new HDD. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Also tired different timings, nothing worked. 4-4-4-12, 3-2-2-10, 5-4-4-14, a few more but doesn't matter.
System Specs:
Evga 8800 gts
Wintec AMP0 (1gb x 2) DDR2 ram 667mhz
Core 2 duo 2.4ghz
RAID: 250gb samsung 7200rpm HDD
500gb samsung 7200rpm HDD
P5N-E SLI ASUS MOBO
(cooling is perfect with my cpu fan (not a factory fan)

Another thing: i tired install acrobat reader to look at RAM specs for my MOBO and it fails to even install that (error: corrupt file or path. Restart computer and tried again. If problem presists contact your system manufacturer.)

RAM probs, what do you mean "i can't OC it because nothing will install" since when did you have to install somthing to OC.
 
I was never a fan of Wintec ram...
If shopping for new ram buy any of the following:

Corsair
Patriot
G.Skill
Geil

... and you'll be fine.

Sounds like your ram is corrupting your files. Bad ram has nothing to do with overclocking! Plus I,m not much of a fan of Wintec, Stick with Corsair-G Skill-OCZ-Kingston or Crucial
 
although im still kicking myself for buying this ram at the time i did. all prices dropped bout $80 a little while after i bought this ram.
