is my ram the reason why my computer won't boot up?

Yea if you can get another stick of ram and check it out that would help eliminate one thing. No I dont think that since it supports 1.8 that you would have to have 1.8 to boot. Pretty sure it just means that it will support voltages down to 1.8. Asus boards are kinda picky with Ram not for sure about MSI boards havent used them in awhile. I,ve found Gigabyte about the most Ram friendly.

i finally found the problem. after 2 months of saving up/trouble shooting and rmaing motherboards..... complaining to the sales guy that i got a defective cpu which i did not!! it was the friggin POWER CORD. I needed to plug that directly into the walloutlet no the extended one!!! i powered it up and it worked!!!!! today is the happiest day of my life!!! ! sorry im so excited i needed to post

on the downside. i end up selling the ballistix to my friend for 35 and i bought it for $60. but i end up buying the corsairs 800mhz 2 gb for 99$ with a $50 mail in rebate.
