well i just tried flashing my buffalo WHR_G54S with dd-wrt firmware and now the only thing is ever says is "aquiring network address" but it never connects. all of the LEDs look normal so i dont know if i bricked it or how to recover. please help me out. thanks
no sure how i know if DHCP is enabled. yes i tried flashing it about a dozen times. i got the router to work again but it only works at the ip address 192.168.1.141. according to dd-wrt's site i have to change the ip to 192.168.11.2 but then i have no internet connection and i cannot communicate w/ the router. i have tried logging into the router but all has failed so far. obviously i didnt brick it if i have internet through it again, but i would like to know the ins and outs of flashing a buffalo router w/ dd-wrt (and yes i read alot of their site already)
Try doing a manual software restore, there should be a small pin sized switch on the back somewhere, should restore the router to its original firmware and hopefully factory config/settings too.
well its working perfectly now and i honestly dont know what i did to fix it. and the best thing of all it has the dd-wrt firmware on it and it all works perfect. any tips on how to fine tune (beef up) my buffalo router while still maintaining reliability and all that good stuff?
