OK guys, i need a good answer. Does SLi really boost performance well enough considering 2x the cost? Anyone experienced it?
Is SLi Really worth it?

Im running it currently 
I bought my 7800GTX's 2 months after their release (after they were over here in the shops that is), so they are running quite a wile already,. still, they do have really good in game performance,.. i can still max out about everything
if you SLI 2 high end cards, imo it is worth it, if you're willing to spend the extra money,.. if you're going to SLI 2 mid/low-range cards,.. dont do it,.. you're better of buying 1 higher end card then

Generally speaking, no.
If your not aiming at very high resolution gaming (above 1600x1200) it won't be worth it. The best single cards of today can handle most games up to 1600x1200. If higher then SLI/CF is to be considered.
Multi GPU configs using cheaper GPU's is always a bad idea as a single higher end card will almost always outperform and be the better deal. Multi configs using high end GPU's is nice and will take the performance crown no doubt, but if you on some kind of budget I would strongly advise against it.
