Is something about to blow up?

My computer makes a screaching sound whenever it processes a frame. For example, each frame for 3dmark05 screeches (I think it is only in the cpu portion). Also when it is in GoogleEarth it does the same thing when I move the mouse over the picture, if I move it over the taskbar it doesn't do it. Any help?

wait what? what do you mean by screeching? Speakers screeching or the computer itself? And what do you mean for each frame it processes? Wouldn't that make a constant screech?

The computer screeches. In the CPU test for 3dmark05, I only get <3 fps so it is not continuous. I also think it might make that noise during games as well.

it doesn't sound like the mobo speaker. it clicks. maybe I can get a mic and attach a sound to a post?

could be the fans on your cpu/vid card failing, which will explain horrible fps cause the cpu/gpu is probably overheating.

Also could be your harddrive, which if it is, i would def back up all your data ASAP.

Other than that I can't think of anything else that moves inside a computer, besides the CD drive but i doubt it.

I don't think that many people got more than 5 or so fps in the cpu section of 3dmark05. My hd is new and good, but my P D 820 has a Zalman 7700alcu on it with a 44-48c idle a 60+c load. how could I lower the temps w/o watercooling?!

EDIT: I have a 120mm exahust in back and a 80mm intake in front; power supply has 80mm exhaust, a direct intake with director to cpu cooler.
