Is the $25 Higher Price tag worth it?

I'm also having problems with finding a motherboard- Every board I have looked at doesn't support 1600Mhz out of the box. Plus I'm trying to keep it under $125 for the motherboard which makes it way harder.

Most boards will default the memory to 1333 by default (JEDEC) Anything above that you just need to set speed/timing and voltage manually in the bios.

And that's an IMC issue (on the CPU, integrated memory controller) more than a board issue. If the board can give it the voltage, the speed won't be a problem. the CPU's will allow you to run a higher memory multiplier to get your rated speeds, you'll also need to manually configure the timings and voltages.

Its not necessarily a memory controller issue. True some memory controllers have a limit to what mhz. it can run stable with any amount of voltage.

The main reason is the boards manufacture has the boards bios default to what ever the highest JEDEC approved standard is, and bypass the memory SPD above 1333.

So I guess I should spend the extra on the 1600 Cas 6? I still need to find a good P67 motherboard though, preferably for less than 135 usd, if you feel like being nice and looking :P
