Is the HP zv6000 good for gaming?

I have copnsidered purchasing a gaming laptop for not too much $$$ (under $1,250). I found the zv6000 from HP. It features the AMD 64 CPU up to 4000 i think, and handles 2gb of ram and has the ATI Radeon XPress 200M w/ 128mb of dedicated memory and Hypermemory.

So this looked OK to me, what about anybody else??

i heard that the amd 64 cpu isnt that good for laptops, and that your better off with a pentium m or something to that extent. Cause the amd 64 uses way too much power... at least thats what i've heard. The dell i9300 can have a gefore 6800, so id go with dell if u want it for gaming.

have a look at Sony Vaio A-series, some good laptops (even with 256mb graphics) at under £1300

the amount of memory on the graphics card doesnt depict the performance level of it.

The AMD processor to my understanding, is that it is better more gaming purposes like what he wants to use it for. The INtel is for muti tasking. That is just what i was told on these forums. Also Matrix i would suggest getting a better video card in the near future. When you configure the HP make sure it has a motherboard that can handle a better video card. If im wrong about this sorry. :)

You want a processor with the best performance to power consumption ratio. That usually is something liek a Pentium-M, but i'm not too up to date with laptop processors.

Toshiba Satellite M35 got very good reviews, but i'm not sure if those were gaming oriented reviews.

what is the best graphics card you can get for laptops?

it depends on the laptop.

I THINIK you can get a 6800 series PCI-E card in a laptop, but that's only for the ones with PCI-E support and the card has to fit. Upgrading graphics in a laptop is like trial and error, you have to know if it fits.

The ATI MOBILITY RADEON X800 with 256MB of DDR 3 memory, 7700 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra with 256MB of DDR3 memory and the 7700 NVIDIA GeForce 6800 with 256MB of DDR3 memory are really nice video cards, but can be pricy.
