Is the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7600G (2.33GHz/667MHz/4MB) really worth $569.00 more than the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2GHz/667MHz/4MB)

I am asking because i am buying a laptop soon and was wondering what the best prosesser to get would be there are also the options of (they are for the Dell XPS M1710):

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7400 (2.16GHz/667MHz/4MB) [add $189 or $5/month1]
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7600 (2.33GHz/667MHz/4MB) [add $459 or $12/month1]

The T7200 is a great processor, especially since it has 4MB of cache. I would not upgrade to the T7600, and I wouldnt recommend spending $189 more to get 160Mhz more processing power.

T7300 is cheaper than T7200 in newegg

The only difference between those two is that T7300 has 800MHz FSB, and it is cheaper

T7500 is much cheaper than T7400, and it is even cheaper than T7200

T7500 have 800MHz FSB and 0.4GHz more clock speed than T7400

T7700 is cheaper than both T7600 and T7400

If your laptop supports 800MHz FSB, then I would upgrade to one of these 800 FSB processors

personally I wouldn't pay that much for an extra *bit* if processing speed. I should think the 2GHz would be quite sufficient for what you're doing, being one of the higher processors for laptops in the market
