Is the Intel X58 Chipset a dual-socket motherboard?

Is the Intel X58 Chipset a dual-socket motherboard? Can it support 4 cores on each socket?

I don't think that's the x58 mobo. I heard the first x58 will only have 1 vga slot so no sli or tri sli to the first batch of x58 mobo's
