I was wondering if this laptop is worth the cost? is getting a desktop better? Could this run games like skyrim on ultra settings?

If portability isn't an issue, a desktop with would be cheaper.

Portability isn't exactly needed. But it would be greatly appreciated as I go to a lot of LAN parties and other similar events.
