Im going to be building a computer soon and i've already chosen the MOBO and processor, but then the SHUTTLE XPC caught my eye. ANd im not sure if I should ditch everything and go with the SHUTTLE barebones system.

Its just under $200 and since im shooting for a PC under $500, im not sure if this will be right for me.
But if I decide to purchace the XPC i'll have $300 left to build my computer

200 GB Seagate HD - $50 after M.I.R.
DVD drive - $20
Video card - $50-$80
Monitor - $0 (i'll be using my 21" LCD)
Wireless keyboard - $50
Mouse - $0 (old one)
Processor - $100
1GB Mem - $100
Speakers - $50

How does this shuttle setup look?

This was my original setup.....

Case - $0
MOBO+ Processor - $179.99
200 GB Seagate HD - $50 after M.I.R.
DVD drive - $20
Video card - $50-$80
Monitor - $0 (i'll be using my 21" LCD)
Wireless keyboard - $50
Mouse - $0 (old one)
1GB Mem - $100
Speakers - $50

Im preaty sure my orignal setup was cheaper..... but the shuttle is defenantly smaller and better looking. I dont really need a super demanding computer, just something that will be used for ocational gaming (CS:S), a little here and there photoshoping and video editing, and web browsing.

that would depend on what you're planning on doing with the pc :)
like you said, you dont need a very powerfull pc, then i think the shuttle would be just fine.

the fact that its an AM2 motherboard helps a bit too i think.. since thoe CPU's are rather cheap (or at least, the single core ones :) )

Sure looks cramped. I would think that case wouldn't cool much at all. Are you planning on gaming with it? If not, it has a built in vid card, so no need for a new one.

Honestly, I wouldn't. I'd be concerned about upgradability and power requirements, even with a low-end video card. If you really need something small, go for it, but if it's not a key issue just get a good looking case and go from there.
