Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor w/ HT Technology (3GHz, 800 FSB) - 32$ more

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor (2.80GHz, 533 FSB)

If I get the top one its going to be abit more then I wish to spend and I just wanted to know if it would be worth buying it.

yes it would be worth more spending on the 3ghz its not that much more and you get more speed and the 2.8 has differnet architecture so that some things wont work with the 2.8

Ok thanks. Is this good for a budget Gaming PC?

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor w/ HT Technology (3GHz, 800 FSB)
512MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz
80GB Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM Hard Drive
48x CD-RW / DVD-ROM Combo Drive

Total: $638
Case and power are added in there somewhere.

ya everything looks good but you might put your memory up to 1 gig depends on what games you are playing and what OS you have and i dont see your videocard in there unlesss your planning on using the onboard video which would be crappy for most newer games

and what powersupply are you getting? i wouldnt use the one that came with the case if thats what your planning on doing and i would get a 50-100 one so you know it would last you awhile and yoy know it would power your eqipment

Ah forgot to add those, its going to have XP and my old NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000. I also forgot to menchion that I have the other half of the RAM in this computer.

Hmmm

The graphics card is pretty weak for gaming. I doubt you will be able to enjoy many new games ;). As far as I know, the MX 4000 is a Direct X 8 (possibly even 7) card and performs weakly. I am speaking from personal experience, having the Geforce 4 MX 440 which is a weaker and older brother of your choice.

Recommend any cheap/semi good video cards then? Or should I just spend some time snooping around newegg?

Ah

My suggestion would be the Nvidia Geforce 6600 or the ATI Radeon x700. These are PCI-Express cards. What will you have?

I'm not sure I could use those, but who knows? I'll see after I order *shivers* the computer from Dell.

if your ordering the computer from dell than most newer computers will have pci Express so you need to get one if you dont have one already
