Is there a way to see if your current specs can have a xyz upgrade?

Windows XP can show more than 4 gigs of ram too. They all can, it depends solely on whether or not it's 64-bit. I still thoroughly encourage the jump to 7 though, XP is a bit of a dinosaur.

There's not much of a reason to wait to put your card in either. Why torture yourself looking at it and not using it? Put it in and go for a spin! Plus, when you do upgrade everything else, you'll be able to see how much of a difference it made in what applications.
