is there a way to tell how many frames per second your getting

hrmm

now how do i make it show how may frames per second im getting cuz id like to know on vice city and on a few other games i got

about fraps

is games suspose to have a steady 30 frames per second cuz in need for speed most wanted it sometimes drops down to 17 from time to time and it stays in the 20 range but gta vice city it stays in the 28 30 range so what does that mean?

the frames don't stay the same they go up and down ,but if they go that low it could be time to upgrade your gpu..

Those frames are nearly unplayable, I dont know how you can stand that, try turning down the settings.

And different games are more or less dependent on hardware, so some will run better, some wont.

well

well i always wonder why it got slow on me and overclocking helps a lil but i cant overclock anyhigher for my card for some reason but if i got me a 7600 agp gt do you think the performance would be much better and i will get a steady 30 frames

Maybe, however, your Celeron is probably a factor, as is your 768MB of memory. With playing NFS:MW, I can almost max out my memory; I usually have 50MB left.

I would say the most glaring need is more RAM, the card should be just fine... As for playability anything that is around or above 30 FPS should be playable. It really depends on the person.

hrmm

so would i be better off with a pentium 4?

hrmm i'll have to look into getting more ram

for the longest time i played at 30fps with my pentium 3. then with a new computer i started getting 100fps and i couldnt tell that it was different. 2 years later if im playing at 30fps because im burning a cd or something i cannot stand it cause it looks so choppy.
