i have my main comp at home, and i want to leave it on downloading large files, but i dont want no one to mess with it, is there any way of having the computer logged out to the login screen where it needs a password but still be downloading, so its downloading and noone can touch it, im on vista btw

Fast Switching. When you have fast switching enabled, you can "log out" to the login screen while having all your programs/downloads running in the background.

I'm not sure how to enable it in vista though, but I'm fairly positive that such feature does exist...

EDIT: vk3fcll beat me to it... but to do what he told you to, you need to have Fast Switching enabled. Or what he told you to do IS Fast Switching. Man I suck at explaining this stuff...

Depends which OS you are using, if it's Windows XP using the standard logon where you select an account, then you can enable fast user switching and just click "switch user". If you are using the classic logon of XP or Vista then press the "Windows key and L".
