Is this a good build?

Hey I was wondering if this would be a DECENT gaming computer for "todays" games. Preferably to run crysis, quake, and PCSX2 :)

Here are my specs:

AMD CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core Processor 245 (3.1 GHz) AM3

AMD CPU FANS: AMD STANDARD COOLING FAN

AMD DDR2 MOTHERBOARDS: ASRock N68-S Socket AM2+/ GeForce 7025/ DDR2/ RAID/ A&V&GbE

DDR2 DUAL CHANNEL MEMORY: 2GB (1 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC 6400) Dual Channel

PCI-EXPRESS VIDEO CARDS: nVidia GeForce 8800 GT

SOUND CARDS: REALTEK 6-CHANNEL DIGITAL SOUND

NETWORK CARDS: REALTEK 10/100 ETHERNET

CASES: BCC VOYAGER MID-TOWER ATX

POWER SUPPLY: 550 WATT ATX POWER SUPPLY
 
My budget is $500

Why wont this run crysis??? It meets (if not surpasses) the recommended system requirements!?!?!?!

i think they mean max settings. that gpu will hold you back a little bit and so will the cpu but you should be able to play crysis on low settings. i don't think you would be able to run medium at any decent fps though.

right now, am2 and even am2+ systems aren't worth building. i personally would wait until you get a better budget, like something around $1000, and build then. that way you won't have to spend money on something that won't work very well for very long.

Save up,add an extra $150 to your budget and get this.

Now its not exactly a powerhouse,But it will play Crysis no problems.

That system you listed is not up to the task.

Total =$650.93

You could drop the price for a smaller capacity hard drive,But that 1TB was not much more than the smaller slower drives.
Or you could get a Tripple core Athlon 2 instead of a Quad core.
Or you could lower the ram to 2Gb,although i wouldnt recommend doing that.
 
^ nice :good: that should (not sure with the cou) let you play on medium ( no aa) without any really bad hiccups (30-50 fps).
