I got:
GigaByte z77x ud3h MoBo for $100.
G.Skills RipJaw 2x4GB=8GB for $39.
i5 3570k for $190.
HAF912 case for $50.
OCZ ZS series 550W for $50.
Western Digital caviar blue 500GB for $68.
Are these great deals and is i5 3570k better than i5 2500k and by how much?

I still need to purchase a video card so any recommendations would be amazing.

It was a great deal!
i5-3570k has a better TDP and a better similar OC.
For video card, I'd get the GTX 670.

Yep a good deal and yes the 3570K is newer than the 2500K, overclocks about the same too.

Graphics cards wise, go for a 660 Ti or a 670 if you want an NVIDIA, or a 7850 or 7870 if you want AMD. I'd go for the 660 Ti, faster than the Radeons and cheaper than the 670, and not much slower than it.

Don't water down your system with a sub-par GPU. If you can afford it, definitely go for the GTX 670.

Absolutely - the 670 and all the other GPUs mentioned here will definitely be faster than a 6850. The 6850 is very good for the price though, but if you can spending more would be good.

OCZ offers a 700W for around 50$ nowadays. I bought 850W from them for 89$ few days ago.

GTX670 is very nice, but the FTW Version that EVGA offers is extremely powerful.
However, you won't be disappointed with the 660ti or the amd 7870 or 7850s.

I also only have 550W of PSU. That's below the power the 670 will conduct.

I have a system I just purchased with similar specs.

i5 3570K
1TB hd
H100 cooler
8gb ram
Gigabyte UDH5
Corsair 500r Case
and a
Gigabyte GTX 670

The card does say to get a 550watt power supply with a 150 watt 8 pin and 75 watt 6 pin connector.

I'm using a 520watt Modular Seasonic PSU

It only needs 400watts under load for this system. But if you want to go more, you can.

Nice. I already purchased a 6850 so I'll be fine.
