Is this a good gaming Pc?

But, Would it be wrong to get the Pc i listed. Like is there anything wrong with my CPU. When saying that I mean am I going to experince lag when playing a game like HalfLife 2?

Yes, you'll experience lag in some of the newer games at high screen resolutions and higher graphics settings not because of the chip but because of the 7600GS. The chip will do what you need it to do. I'd suggest a Core 2 Duo but that's irrelevant to the fact that the 7600GS just isn't enough graphics card to run stuff like FEAR and Rainbow Six: Vegas and the like at max settings without lag. Plus I think most 7600GS's have DDR2 memory while the 7600GT's and up almost exclusively have DDR3. I'd suggest going with a better graphics card even if you have to save money elsewhere. Do a web search on Direct X10 and see how that will figure into your future plans as well. The current generation of graphics cards is going to start to be phased out soon for the DX10 cards so you might want to take that into consideration if you're going to keep it for years and years.

I wouldn't trade my AMD for an intel, even a much faster one.

I melted a motherboard overclocking once, had to pry the CPU form the socket and the damn thing still worked. I have bought AMD since

But it's your own fault that you OCed too much, not Intel's ;) Anyone with some common sense would see that Core 2 Duo is superior as of now. However, AMD very well may have something up their sleeves. It's stupid being a fan boy as you are just cheating yourself out of a better deal.

He means that he was overclocking an AMD and it melted. Then when he pryed it off the socket it still worked.
