I havent used that very one but installed alot of Seagates and yes they are good drives.

Yeah they are very good drives but I prefer Western Digitals overall.

Thats quite a bit more than I want to spend on a HDD. Plus, I dont need a lot of space because I have a 320GB external HD, and I have a 250 on my comp right now and it's nowhere near full yet, so I doubt I will need anything to big.

I like Seagate drives personally, never had a problem with them (that's not to say other brands aren't also good).

That one looks pretty good, but it's only 16MB cache, which is only half of what the one I posted has.

16MB of cache is still plenty.

cache isn't necessarily the biggest concern for drives (IMO). 16 MB should be fine.

Typically anything over 1MB is a gimmick and is almost never, if ever used. Yeah, the drive is decent and yes, it totally smokes the POS Caviar.

I was sorting through a pile of drives I have at work today. One dead Maxtor, the rest Caviars. The Maxtor was over 10 years old though. The Caviars? Anything from 40 to 500GB.. Fried. Another dead one came in today. Trust me when I say they're absolute garbage.
