Is this a good monitor for strictly FPS games?

Looks like a good pick to me. I have used ASUS monitors in several builds. I have never been disappointed with them. Going to be great for FPS gaming

Not to get off topic, but wow, of all the people you've helped mate, I've never seen you ask for any.

Haha, anyway. I agree. While people on here tend to dislike ASUS for their motherboards, I can say from experience that their monitors give you amazing quality especially considering how much you pay for them. Great choice. The only monitors I would ever even look at besides ASUS is samsung.

The specs look good.
Even though 1920x1080 is not the best resolution for a 27" but monitors with higher resolution cost a lot more. And response time is pretty great. Plus it has LED backlighting, so win.

@Troncoso - Never hurts to discuss what you are getting, with other members :D Or getting a second opinion.

+1 to a monitor that has a higher resolution but for $300 you would be hard pressed to find one. The Hanns G monitors that have the similar specs are about $350 but seem to have a lower quality than the ASUS.

Haha, yeah I know, I have no problem with that. It's just not very often that The guys on here that help everyone ask for help in return. It actually feels good to give some insight to help members who have helped me so often in the past.

27 inches?

why dont you just get a hdtv if you want it to be wall mounted?

An HDTV That's even 32" will not be 1920x1080p. They also have a much slower response time. Regardless of what the feature we are talking about, TV's are for viewing video or playing console games at lower frame rates. A monitor is designed for a better PC gaming experience.

OK, thanks guys. Sounds like i'll be getting that monitor then. Can't wait to get it. It was either this one or getting another 22" for dual screens.

I'm replying back with an update on this since it took me 3 months to decide to get it or not. I finally ordered it and received it last week, haven't had a chance to game with it yet though. This thing dwarfs my 22" I had. Pretty good monitor so far, no stuck or bad pixels. Was a little bright when first turned on so I turned down the brightness and contrast. Also a side note, make sure you go into the monitor setup and designate whatever connection you are using as default. I hadn't did that and then when I restarted the pc after initially setting up the monitor, it wouldn't turn on at post. Once I got it set to DVI, no problems since.
